Paws to the Path LLC offers hikes for all dogs. I specialize in working with reactive, fearful & anxious dogs. I hike only one dog at a time on remote trails during off-peak hiking hours.
- I offer 1-Hour Hikes. The distance and elevation of each hike is based on each dog's overall health, breed, age, weight, physical abilities and the environmental conditions.
- Pick-up and drop-off to your door, even if you're not home. I provide realtor style door locks, for a one-time rental fee, if requested. Your pet will be secured as per your instructions when I leave.
- Safe transportation to and from the hike. Dogs will be secured in an Impact Dog Crate while the vehicle is in motion.
- I will carry plenty of cold, fresh, water for your dog. I utilize either a 2 or 3 quart pack reservoir and collapsible water bowl for your dog to drink from .
- Your dog will wear a half-check martingale collar, a front range hiking harness and a Marco Polo tracking transmitter (all provided). I also utilize a 6" leather, double bolt back-up so each dog is always connected by leash to both the collar and the harness.
- During hunting seasons in State Parks, I will provide each dog with a highly visible 75 sq. inch orange safety vest to be worn underneath the front range hiking harness.
- I will provide a GPS snapshot of the hike to include distance traveled, elevation, pace and moving time by the end of the day. I'll also provide any pictures and videos from the hike.
- I always carry a fully stocked canine first aid kit and an emergency extraction sling (to carry and injured or fatigued dog back to safety).
- Your dog will be leashed at all times. I carry additional 15 and 20 foot waterproof leashes for more freedom for exploring and swimming when conditions permit.
- I maintain strict "Leave No Trace Principals" for every hike.
- The overall strategy - Have fun, stay safe and return a very happy & tired dog home to you!
